Since ancient times the rose was used to create perfumes, but its remarkable properties in the treatment of skin infections are also known.

The damask rose is a very ancient rose variety: each flower has about 36 petals.

Historically native to the Middle East, today it is cultivated mainly in Bulgaria and Morocco, where the "Rose Valley" exists.

The rose is picked by hand, early in the morning until there is still dew on the flowers: in this way it is possible to obtain a higher quality product.

The damask rose has a very delicate but unmistakable smell as it is composed of more than 400 different aromatic substances, which also give it extraordinary properties.

For these reasons it is considered the Queen of the Roses.

The properties of Rosa Damascena:

it is a moisturizer: it holds water by gelling rather than by hygroscopicity.

For this reason when there are unfavorable weather conditions (we expose ourselves directly to the sun, or we are in an environment with high temperature and low humidity) it is a shield that hinders the dehydration processes.

For this reason it is recommended especially for dry, poorly hydrated and fragile skin.

gives elasticity and firmness to the skin: in fact it is often used as a firming.

For this reason it is also recommended to prepare the skin for childbirth

it is excellent on all skin types: it moisturizes dry skin, balances the mixed skin and purifies the fat.

it is an anti-aging: it fights the formation of wrinkles, keeping the skin fresh and young.

it is an anti-inflammatory: it counteracts all skin inflammations such as acne.

it is a vasoconstrictor: it is used to soothe redness and rosacea.

it is refreshing: it removes excessive heat from the body, so that once the rose water was used to lower fever.

it is an antidepressant: it relaxes the heart and supports in moments of sadness, chasing away negative thoughts, favoring self-esteem and openness to tenderness and love.

it is an aphrodisiac: smelling the scent of a rose for a long time can have a positive effect on women's hormones.

For this reason the rose is the most frequent gift among lovers, precisely because it increases eroticism.

It is suitable for all skin types from the most sensitive to the most demanding with acne and blackheads.
