Henna Preparation

HENNA.jpeg

1) Take a plastic or ceramic container and a wooden, plastic but also metal spoon (if the henna is pure there are no problems)

2) Mix the henne powder with lemon juice, vinegar or citric acid (the henna needs an acid substance to release the color). In case you find it too "strong" you can put a part of lemon / vinegar with a demineralized water or tea, chamomile infusions etc .. avoid the coffee makes the migraine come!

The use of lemon rather than vinegar and vice versa does not lead to any difference in the release of color, usually lemon is preferred because it gives a less "strong" smell to the dough

3) Stir until obtaining a thick and creamy paste such as yogurt.

4) Cover the henna with plastic wrap and let it rest overnight at room temperature.

5) After the laying time the henna has released the color and is ready to be applied to the hair.

If you want to speed up the process, put the henna to rest in a warm place and release the color in about 2 hours.

Remember that an abundant and long application will result in a richer and more intense color.

Put on gloves (henna stains!)

We use these henna proportions:

to color short hair around 80 / 100gr

to color hair up to the neck about 150/200 gr

to color hair at the back 250/300 gr

to color hair up to the waist 400/500 gr

Wash and pat dry and dry the hair.

Divide the hair into strands.

Start applying the henna with your hands starting from the back of the head.

Grab the lock and apply a thick layer of henna starting from the root and then down to the tips

Continue with the same procedure for all the strands.

Once the henna has been applied over the entire length of the hair cover with transparent film (better without pvc)

Leave to rest for 1 hour if you want a less intense and lighter color.

From 2 to 4 or more hours for a darker and more intense color.

After the application time, wash the hair preferably without shampoo, but if it cannot be done without a delicate one.

Make the last rinse with an acid substance such as apple vinegar, lemon, onion skins etc ...

It should be remembered that with a body art henna, washing is as easy as washing away a common dye, being a very fine and impalpable powder.

After washing and drying the color will be brighter, this effect will pass within 48 hours as the color will look and become darker and more natural (mother nature has its times!)

Basic color Blond: you will get Copper / Red Intense
Basic color Brown: you will get Mahogany Red
Basic color Black: you will get violet reflections

The henna dyes hands and feet but not the head and ears just rinse it quickly.

Do not wash your hair for the next 2-3 days, so as not to interfere with the color oxidation process.

It should be remembered that henna should not be stored in damp places (eg the bathroom) as it may lose its coloring power.

Store it in a dry and cool place, or in the freezer both in powder and in case there is some dough left over.

Note Well:

WE RECOMMEND TO ALWAYS CARRY OUT A TEST ON A HAIR LOCK OR HAIR TAKEN FROM THE BRUSH IN ORDER TO EVALUATE IF THE RESULT IS OF YOUR PERFORMANCE THEN, THEN PROCEED TO ALL THE ABOUT.

Useful tips:

It must be said that if vegetable powders are used such as henna, indigo and cassia it is useful not to use silicones or more commonly called "liquid crystals" as they film the hair and hinder the adhesion of the vegetable color, in any case the silicones "suffocate "the scalp with consequent hair loss.

Using vegetable oils instead of silicones is good and really helps to heal the hair but also the skin!

Do not use shampoos, conditioners, masks containing sls, sles, parabens, silicones, petroleum derivatives, pegs, nickel and all those harmful and aggressive substances.

Instead, prefer shampoos and sweet treatments with natural and cruelty free inks, they do well and help the coloring powders stay longer and brighter !!!

Remember that precious and useful ingredients for real restructuring masks are the most common ones such as soy lecithin, agave syrup, maple syrup, soy milk, almond, coconut, brewer's yeast, olive oil, lemon, bananas, apples etc..

The password is NATURAL !!!!

You can use henna (alone or with indigo, cassia) also with your own balm or with a corn starch gel, rice etc ... as a reflecting mask.
If you use the balm remember without silicones !!!!!!!

How do you prepare it?

Just add 1 tablespoon of henna, 1 tablespoon of vinegar to your conditioner or natural gel to "refresh" the color from one henna to another.

Keep it on for 30 minutes or more by wrapping the head with plastic wrap and then proceed with washing.

We remind you that you can easily apply henna and indigo to chemically treated hair, or on the contrary you can apply it on hair already treated or treated with indigo as long as henna and indigo are body art quality or very pure and therefore not containing metal components , otherwise unpleasant reactions may occur (example green hair).

CURIOSITY':

Many people have found that wetting their hair before applying henna enhances their coloring effect!
