Love, attraction, courtship and union ... this is BELTANE

In Beltane the earth is celebrated by thanking her for having overcome the rigors of winter and propitiating the favors of the spirits of the other world so that they give fertility, vitality and new passion.
​
Beltane is the festival of fire, of light that officially inaugurates us in the bright period.
​
It is one of the feasts to celebrate the Mother Goddess and the God the Father of the Earth, who with their union and their immense love give us all that is beautiful on this fantastic planet.
​
Beltane literally means "Bright Fire" and is also the name of the month of May in Irish.
​
It is the day that is located halfway between the spring equinox and the summer solstice.
​
Astronomically the correct day is May 5th.
​
It is the festivity that represents love but even if it is known as a purely British and Irish festival, it finds its celebrations also in Italian territory.
​
In Italy, for example, the Celto Ligurians were undoubtedly among the worshipers of the God and celebrated this feast.
​
Even today in many peasant cultures there is still the celebration of this ancient festival, such as in Piedmont, or in Alta Val Camonica, the small community of Pontagna celebrates the night between 15 and 16 August with large fires.
​

This is a celebration to be celebrated in company if better than our patner.
Light fires, purify yourself by passing in the middle.
Prepare oat cakes and celebrate!
You can plant a vertical pole in your garden by decorating it with red bows.
Women can prepare garlands with flowers.
Celebrate outdoors if you can in Beltane it hardly rains!
It is the moment in which the energies of light and life manifest themselves in their most triumphant way!
It is also time to stimulate our creativity and our inner fertility.

Esoteric path
​
Samhain and Yule have above all material purposes and serve to satisfy basic needs such as money, work, the sphere of materiality in general.
On the spiritual side, their function is to make access to the lunar Unconscious less difficult where, later, to purify it: the Hermeticists called this action the union of water with fire, of the fixed with the volatile, of the Eagle with the Snake.

In these two Celebrations the spiritual infinity was only glimpsed, we could say, while the first real work of purification and elevation took place with Imbolc .
​
The action of Imbolc was in fact that of removing from the lunar Unconscious much of the painful component, linked to memories and often totally unconscious, but capable of triggering those behavioral patterns of defense, closure or aggression.
​
Thanks to the cathartic action of Imbolc, the I could, guided by a stronger will and freed from the slavery of pain, try new experiences, material and spiritual, where to create new patterns of behavior, and this is the main action of the celebration of the Equinoxes.
Furthermore, particular attention is paid to personal fulfillment in the affective sphere at the Equinox.

With the Equinox the so-called solve phase ends, which aims to provide a greater "mallability" to our being and to untie the painful knots of the unconscious, so as to make the person available again to new experiences, renewing all energies and potential.
​
A Beltane begins the second part of the journey, the one that the ancients called phase coagula, that is, after making our potentials malleable, renewed and available, and having ventured into new paths, now it is a question of consolidating the results achieved, of being able to aspire to higher goals both in spiritual and material terms.
