Henna Allergy

Allergy Henna.jpeg

If very rare, there may be people who are cheerful about pure henna.

The allergic reaction from pure henna has nothing to do with that caused by PPD.

Documented cases of allergy due to henna are just a couple.

This allergy occurs immediately; the person who exposes himself to henna dust will 'feel' a runny nose, itchy eyes and a dry cough.

Anyone who thinks they are allergic to henna is advised to take a forearm test and wait 1 hour before using it.

If none of the above symptoms occur you are not allergic to henna and you can use it without any problems.

If you choose henne 'of quality for body art you can be sure that it does not contain PPD or other chemical ingredients.

Many times he accuses Black Henna for temporary tattoos ...

There is immediately to say that these tattoos performed by unqualified people are not made with Indigo(Indigofera Tinctoria) alone but with Indigo mixed with PPD in order to give the tattoo a long duration and greater brilliance.

Beware therefore of tatoo made by unqualified people if you are not absolutely sure of the purity of the henna.

Whoever has a happy reaction having a black tattoo is not allergic to the indigo but to PPD.

By choosing high quality henne you are sure that it will be free of PPD and similar substances

The herbs can give rise to phenomena of sensitization or contact allergy, of course, nothing comparable to those caused by chemical substances such as Para-phenylendiamine or Sodium Picramate.

We therefore advise you in case of doubt to carry out a skin test at least one hour before the application of the Henne or other coloring Herbs.

Skin Test:

1 - Prepare your henna in the usual way, mixing it with lemon (in the case of Indigo with water) and let it oxidize (better one night)

2 - Before applying the mixture thus obtained on the hair, take a small amount and apply it on the forearm and then cover with plastic wrap for about thirty minutes.

3 - If during this application you feel a tingling sensation or if you remove the mixture from the skin, you notice a stinging reaction with the appearance of slight swellings, probably allergic to one or more herbs. (Obviously the color left by the dough is normal as it is henna for Body Art).

The stinging sensation will disappear in the following hours.
