Cassia

Preparation

Preparation for golden reflexes or used with henna:

1) Take a plastic or ceramic container and a wooden or plastic spoon.

2) Mix the cassia powder with lemon juice, vinegar or citric acid (cassia like henna needs an acid substance to release the color).

The use of lemon rather than vinegar and vice versa does not lead to any difference in the release of color, usually lemon is preferred because it gives a less "strong" smell to the dough.

3) Stir until obtaining a thick and creamy paste such as yogurt.

4) Cover the cassia with the transparent film and let it rest overnight at room temperature.

5) After the laying time the cassia has released the color and is ready to be applied to the hair.

6)Wash and pat dry and dry the hair.

7)Divide the hair into strands.

8)Begin to apply the cassia with your hands starting from the back of the head.

9)Grasp the lock and apply a thick layer of cassia starting from the root and then down to the tips.

Continue with the same procedure for all the strands.

10)Once the cassia has been applied over the entire length of the hair cover with transparent film (better without PVC)

11)Leave to rest for at least 1 hour to several hours.

12)After the application time, wash the hair preferably without shampoo, but if it cannot be done without a delicate one.

It should be remembered that with a very pure cassia the washing is as easy as washing away a common dye being a very fine and impalpable powder.

Note Well:

If cassia is used with henna, it is not necessary to have it oxidized separately, but add them to powder and then continue as usual.

If you want to speed up the process, put the cassia to rest in a warm place and release the color in about 2 hours.

Put on gloves (cassia stains even if less than henna!)

 Use these proportions of cassia:

to color short hair around 80 / 100gr

to color hair up to the neck about 150/200 gr

to color hair at the back 250/300 gr

to color hair up to the waist 400/500 gr

Restructuring and Glossy preparation:

1)Take a plastic or ceramic container and a wooden or plastic spoon.

2)Mix the cassia powder with hot water, chamomile or tea infusions, until you get a thick and creamy dough like yogurt.

3)It is ready to be used

4)Once covered the whole head cover it with plastic wrap and let it sit for 30 minutes to an hour (the better you keep it)

If you don't want to use the reflecting power of cassia, you don't need to make it oxidize.

N.B

you can add other ingredients according to the type of hair for example balsam (without silicones), powdered milk, soy milk, almond milk, oats, for dry hair, infusion of rosemary for those fats and so on.

Remember that everyone has different hair and problems just trying to find your personal mix.

However, Cassia Obovata already has excellent restructuring properties of its own !!!

Cassia, like henna, can be frozen if the dough is left over.

"Quick" recipe for a Nourishing Restructuring Mask:

*2 or more tablespoons of vegetable yogurt (depending on the length of the hair) alternatively you can use a conditioner without silicones

*1 spoon of agave syrup or maple 2cobs of cassia obovata a few drops of flaxseed oils (no exaggeration is a heavy oil so it is difficult to wash) a few drops of Makassar oil (you can also use other oils as an alternative such as .. extra virgin olive oil, coconut oil, jojoba oil, wheat germ oil etc ...)

*Wet the hair and comb it

*Distribute the cream obtained with a brush or your hands avoiding the roots and insisting on the lengths particularly on the tips.

*Hold for 15-30 minutes

*Proceed with washing first with water only and then with a mild shampoo.

*Balm (generally after this mask there is no need to use the balm again, if you feel your hair a little dry use it in small quantities).

*Air dry

This treatment is very useful for restoring tone and softness to sensitized and frizzy hair.

It can happen to feel a little dry after the treatment with cassia alone (generally depends on the type of hair), no fear is an effect that disappears in 24-48 hours.
